Guest Post: Making Money Using a Consignment Shop
Making Money Using a Consignment or Resale Kid's/Women's Shop
Are you short on cash? Do you have tons of gently used clothes and products? If you answered yes to both of these questions, then you could make a fortune selling your things at a consignment shop in your area! All you need to do is clean out your closet and look for items that would help another mother cut down on her costs. You can even sell your own clothes for money too! The following tips will help you sell your items for top dollar at a consignment store!
1) Divide and Conquer your Closets
Before you do anything, you need to go through your clothes. Divide things into what you want to keep, donate or sell. The best items you should sell. Items that have been used frequently should be donated. Only keep items that have significant sentimental value such as a christening robe. Get rid of everything else! If you plan on having more children, then keep the essentials. However, you do not need to keep things that can easily be replaced. You can do the same with your own clothes. You need to get rid of anything that does not fit or you have never worn. You may be surprised by the amount of things in your closet that you could sell for good money at a consignment shop!
2) Buy on Sale
If you are really serious about making money at a resale shop, then buy your own inventory on sale! Shop around at discount stores or garage sales for great items. You can get a steal for the things you buy only to sell them for more at the shop. Many people actually make their living doing this. Try it, and see how you do. Products with the price tag on them usually sell very well because they are brand new.
3) Try Reselling Items Yourself
Why go through a middle man when you can sell items yourself? If you have the time an energy, then put your items up for sale on Ebay. You can make much more money on certain items than you would in a consignment shop. Also, the sale will end much quicker thanks to the potential of more buyers.
In conclusion, there are many ways you can make money at a consignment shop. As long as you bring in merchandise that is in great condition, then you will be soon rolling in cash. Just remember that you should only bring things that look great. You do not want to earn a reputation for crappy products!
